Standard Connection

A standard broadband internet connection operates under a "best-effort" policy. This means that the connection speed specified for your plan is the maximum possible data transfer rate you could obtain. The cable connection from your office to the provider is shared by others in the building and/or nearby buildings. During times of peak usage, everyone sharing that link may notice slower connection rates.

For most businesses and locations, this type of arrangement is adequate. However, the need for high performance internet has increased with the rise of video streaming, cloud storage, collaboration apps, and other activities that require larger amounts of bandwidth. When these types of operations are mission-critical, a business will benefit from an SLA-backed Dedicated Internet plan.
